THANKSGIVING
The 4th THURSDAY in NOVEMBER

The first "Thanksgiving" was held by the Pilgrim colonists in 1621 in Plymouth. Plymouth Governor William Bradford wanted to give thanksgiving to God by having a celebration after a successful harvest. The neighboring Indians, the Wampanoag, were invited to join in their feast, which included wild fowl, venison, harvest grains, corn, squash and more.
