 "BEETHOVEN'S GUITAR SHRED" DVD REVIEW IN METAL MAIDENS
 We all know, that THE GREAT KAT is one of the fastest, meanest, sexiest, loudest guitar and violin shredders of the entire universe. And there’s no doubt about it! Her videos are short, but they show us the exciting world of this classically-trained metal goddess and her guitar and violin. The seven videos on this DVD are also short, but very intense. Sometimes, it’s good to view these clips consecutively several times to see and comprehend what happens in here. The video for “Flight Of The Bumble Bee” for example runs shorter than one minute and shows THE GREAT KAT shredding on guitar and violin. In “Torture Techniques”, the leather mistress beats the shit out of her slaves. But she doesn’t just torture her slaves, she also kills the strings on her guitar. No one escapes the claws of THE GREAT KAT! The walls are dripping with blood and with furious speed like this, there’s no one who’s gonna stop her or even dares to. “Paganini’s Caprice #24” is on next. Yes, I do think, that this is the way Paganini meant the song to be. THE GREAT KAT is covered in blood, playing at full speed, while her fingers are burning and there’s steam coming out of her instruments. She doesn’t only play the song on guitar, but you can watch it simultaneously, while she is playing it on the violin as well. This is really fast stuff! And if this video does not contain enough blood and violence, just wait for the next one, called “Blood”. WARNING: this video is not meant for the faint-hearted or people, who watch the MTV shit all the time. This video is brutal and ultragore, but hey, that’s the way I like it. It’s outrageous and rude, but an ultimate pleasure to watch for the thrillseekers among us. Is that a liver being brutally pulled out of someone’s poor body??! Enjoy your dinner and in the meantime I’m getting ready for some more extremeness, my mistress!! “Beethoven’s 5th Symphony” is a legendary piece of music, even in its original form. Let’s see, what THE GREAT KAT made out of it. She performs the song with her band and once again I’m getting goosebumps all over my body. I think, she can be proud of this very fast and furious version. “Islamo Fascists” is a politically tense video message. If the enemy sees this, they’ll definately lay down their arms and surrender immediately. If they still can. Let this be a warning for all the non-KAT believers! The mistress is gonna get you, no matter how, and then you’ll die! This may sound rude, cruel and violent, but if you look at this video, you’ll get the message straight in your face. This is the way, that people communicate with each other in 2009. Wake up, these messages are send out every week. But then for real and not as an ‘innocent’ video clip. Maybe that is the bigger message from THE GREAT KAT behind this one minute video clip? The last video is “Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto #3”. I think, this is the longest video and the most friendly or in other words, less violent one. THE GREAT KAT is dressed in white and for the last time she pulls the strings fast and loud, like we’re used to. After about eight minutes, the whole show is over and we can start with the bonus footage on this shredding DVD. We start with “Hot Shred Bits”. This is a fast running photo gallery, that plays for about thirty seconds. Then we have the ‘shred geniusses’ section. Here we see pictures of geniusses in the world of THE GREAT KAT. Musical geniusses, like BACH, ROSSINI, BEETHOVEN and MOZART, but also people like EDGAR ALLEN POE, MARY CURIE, GEORGE WAHINGTON and HIERONYMUS BOSCH. Did I forget someone? Oh yes, THE GREAT KAT of course, silly me. I hope, she can forgive my stupidity. The next chapter is called ‘Metal Fugue: Bach’s The Art Of Fugue’. In this segment, THE GREAT KAT shreds along to Bach’s music for thirty seconds. ‘The shred credit’ part closes this bonus section with email and website addresses. While in ‘the shred kartoon’, we see “The Flight Of The Bumble Bee” as a cartoon in forty-five seconds. The absolute last section on this mega fantastic DVD is ‘the shred on-line’ part with more adresses and pictures. Because of the intensive material, it might be more than enough to handle for the average metal fan out there. However, die-hard fans, adorers and slaves of this blonde, leather dressed genius would like to see much more and more! I really love this lady and to show my appreciation, she receives eleven points out of ten, if that would be possible. If that’s not an option, she will have to do with the full score.
